Any progress is progress

Have you ever felt so overwhelmed that you just shut down?  Frozen in inaction?  I felt really overwhelmed at work today after realizing that I wouldn’t meet a deadline for one of my projects.  I wish I could say that I pushed through and miraculously finished despite my doubts, but that isn’t the case.  Feeling defeated can destroy momentum whether at work or while progressing towards financial goals.

It’s easy to focus on the past and wish that you would have prioritized better so that you could have been successful. It’s harder to throw your hands down and get to typing, to work in the face of disappointment.

You might have lost momentum by missing your savings goals or by caving in to buy things you had promised yourself you wouldn’t buy anymore.

We should remind ourselves that any progress is progress.  It’s better to focus on the actions we can take right now than to give up on opportunities to keep trudging in the right direction.
